Unsettled forecast prompts Derby support for Harzand
Harzand is 16-1 (from 20-1) with Coral for the Investec Derby, following support for the Dermot Weld-trained colt today.
“Trainer Dermot Weld warned last week that Harzand would need some ease in the going to take his chance at Epsom, and the weather seems to be on his side, so with an unsettled few days to come, it would be no surprise to see further support for the Ballysax winner before Saturday,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
Coral are also betting on which horse will start favourite for Saturday’s Classic, and make Wings Of Desire the 11-8 favourite, ahead of the other current 4-1 joint market leader US Army Ranger at 13-8.
“Everyone agrees that this year’s Investec Derby is wide open, and as a result, we reckon any one of the first four in the market could start favourite for the big race,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
