- The Dragons have defeated Braga in eight of their previous 10 encounters
Porto 16/5 to sink Braga but both teams score in 90 mins
Many a coveted domestic cup clash was decided yesterday, with winners in the FA Cup, Coppa Italia, DFB Pokal and Coupe de France, but lucky customers can enjoy another day of dabbles with Spain’s Copa del Rey and the Taca de Portugal still to be decided.
It is to the Taca de Portugal where we turn our attentions today, with Coral offering plum odds of 16/5 on Porto to defeat opponents Braga and both teams to be on target in 90 minutes.
Read on to find out why this flutter on one of Portugal’s ‘big three’ is worthy of being crowned our latest bet of the day…
Porto frequently pip Braga to the points
Second behind only bitter rivals Benfica for all-time Taca de Portugal trophies, with 16 titles so far, Porto won their last three back-to-back in 2009, 2010 and 2011, with two of those three victories seeing the Dragons also concede.
The Primeira Liga giants scored a nifty nine across those finals, seeing their own backline dented by three opposition strikes.
Aside from their recent cup history favouring this wager, there is also Portuguese football royalty Porto’s rampant record against Braga to consider.
The decorated Dragons may have finished just one place above the Archbishops, but the Oporto outfit also clocked-up a whopping 15 further points. Porto have beaten relative minnows Braga in eight of their last 10 Primeira Liga attampts, while in five of those 10 frays there have been goals bagged on both sides.
Porto poached 13 more league goals than their upcoming opponents, but they also conceded more times than either of top three rivals Benfica and Sporting Lisbon, with 30 leaked in 34 games.
Though, with the likes of star turns Vincent Aboubakar, Jesus Corona, Hector Herrera and Yacine Brahimi in their ranks, the Dragons will be counting on blowing Braga away, which makes 16/5 for victory and both teams to bag a price not to be missed!
