Coral’s bet of the day

  • Murray has beaten Djokovic in six previous finals
  • Serb out of sorts this event

Murray 4/1 to beat Djokovic 2-1

Yet again, childhood friends and now foes Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic find themselves against one another in a tournament final – this time of the Internazionali D’Italia (also called the Italian Open or Rome Masters).

It it from this crunch clash that Coral have picked out our Sunday bet of the day from, with Murray priced at a terrific 4/1 to win 2-1 in this warm-up for the 2016 French Open.

Read on to find out why you should back this brilliant bet…

Roland Garros - Semi Final - Djokovic Defeats Murray

In terms of meetings, this will be their fourth final in succession, with the last two going to three sets, and Murray will feel that he is going into this encounter in better touch having not dropped a set this tournament.

Djokovic, on the other hand, has looked out of sorts at times, going down to a rare 6-0 scoreline in the opening set of his third round match with Thomaz Bellucci, while he also had to dig extremely deep in the semis against Kei Nishikori.

Novak out of sorts

At one point in that last tussle, the Serb looked as if he’d have to pull out after inexplicably injuring his own ankle with his racket while trying to hut the clay off his shoes, which forced a lengthy timeout and led to him losing the opening set 6-2.

In complete contrast, British number one Murray was barely troubled in his last four battle with rising French star Lucas Pouille, and will certainly be feeling the fresher player as he also has had an extra day off.

Andy Murray v Milos Raonic - Monte Carlo Tennis Masters

While the Scot will not be happy with his head-to-head record over Djokovic, he has defeated his fellow 28-year-old on six final occasions, including most recently at the Canadian Masters and of course at Wimbledon in 2013.

So, what are you waiting for? Take these odds of 4/1 now for Murray to win 2-1, in this tasty meeting between two of the world’s top tennis stars, to reap rewards.
