Drinkwater axed from final Three Lions squad
Premier League title winner Danny Drinkwater misses out on the final England roster for Euro 2016, despite a hugely successful season with Leicester City.
Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson has also dropped the scarcely used Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph as expected because of a groin problem. Newcastle United winger Andros Townsnend is the third man from the preliminary squad of 26 to miss the boat to the France finals.
Rashford gets nod among attacking options
Manchester United youngster Marcus Rashford has made the cut, however, with Hodgson opting for five strikers. England scorer debutant Rashford has seen his odds of starting the Three Lions’ tournament opener against Russia double to 12/1 with Coral, however.
Talented teenager Rashford will compete with Spurs striker Harry Kane, club teammate Wayne Rooney, Liverpool’s injury-prone Daniel Sturridge and Foxes frontman Jamie Vardy for a starting spot.

Reliable and versatile midfielder James Milner has been given the number four shirt, with Tottenham full back Kyle Walker beating the former’s Anfield clubmate Nathaniel Clyne to the two jersey.
First XI numbers are perhaps not as significant during tournament football, but midfield duo Jack Wilshere and Dele Alli are among those allotted high ones on the back of their shirts.
