Bhoys bag Brendan as boss
Scottish Premiership champions Celtic have confirmed Brendan Rodgers as their new boss on a 12-month rolling contract, with the former Liverpool manager replacing Norwegian coach Ronny Deila after two seasons in charge at Parkhead.

The Glasgow giants had previously declared that Deila was to leave his post this summer, despite leading the club to back-to-back league titles, with the 40-year-old’s failings in Europe and unattractive style sealing his fate as Bhoys boss.
Rodgers will now take up the Hoops post after being dismissed from Anfield last year, with his experience of working in the Premier League with both Liverpool and Swansea City seeing him selected, while his typically free-flowing tactics will also have been a key factor.
Celtic edged out surprise challengers Aberdeen to secure a fifth successive top-flight crown and are the massive odds-on 1/3 favourites to make it six under Rodgers next term, as the Northern Irishman looks to revive his career in new Scottish surroundings.
Rodgers can bring back attractive football
Deila’s failings in Europe coupled with a far from eye catching approach ultimately led to his downfall on the green half of Glasgow, but new boss Rodgers, renowned for his attacking outlook at both Anfield and the Liberty Stadium, will be out to rediscover the club’s usually free-flowing tactics.
The 43-year-old Antrim-born tactician will see this a great opportunity to rejuvenate his own career, as well as take the Hoops to another level, with silverware success always a possibility at the club each season.
Although, Rodgers will have to deal with something Deila didn’t regularly during his reign, and that’s encounters with bitter Old Firm rivals Rangers, who are 5/2 to triumph domestically on their return to the top tier after battling to three promotions in four years.
The former Reds boss will need to impress swiftly in his first derby outings, having stuttered previously during Merseyside match-ups against Everton when in charge of Liverpool. In seven Merseyside derbies, Rodgers managed to oversee just one victory, being held to six stalemates, but was only defeated on one occasion.
After gaining such a privileged position, Rodgers will aim to revive his managerial reputation at one of the most passionately supported clubs in Europe, as Celtic fans prepare for what could be a memorable 2016/17 campaign in Scotland with the old enemy returning and new boss taking charge.
