Coral’s bet of the day

  • Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez enters bout as an overwhelming favourite
  • The Mexican outpointed the legendary Miguel Cotto in November
  • Amir Khan has not fought since May last year against Chris Algieri
  • The Bolton fighter steps up two divisions for latest outing

Canelo a tasty 11/2 to outpoint Khan

The wait is almost over, as the biggest fight of the year takes place tonight between Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Britain’s Amir Khan in Las Vegas, and it’s from this middleweight title showdown that Coral’s latest bet of the day comes from.

Alvarez Khan Boxing

You can back the overwhelming fight favourite Canelo to overcome ‘King’ Khan on points at a promising 11/2, as the Mexican superstar gets ready for the first defence of his WBC strap after securing it with a unanimous decision triumph over Miguel Cotto last November.

The 25-year-old is currently the biggest name in the sport after Floyd Mayweather Jr’s retirement last September and will look to add to his ever-growing legacy with a fifth successive victory since tasting his only career defeat back in 2013.

Alvarez to outgun Khan over the distance

Bolton-born Khan makes a mammoth step up two weight classes to challenge Canelo this weekend at the T-Mobile Arena in Nevada and, having never previously gone beyond welterweight, the two-time world champion faces a truly tough task.

Cotto Canelo Boxing

The Briton’s chin has come under question in the past, when being stunned inside one minute by Breidis Prescott in 2008 and enduring a knockout defeat at the hands of Danny Garcia in 2012, but the beefed-up challenger could put up more of a fight than expected over 12 rounds.

Golden Boy promoted Canelo knows what it takes to dominate over the distance, following his success against Cotto last year and, with his immense power and a rehydration advantage on fight night, he’s likely to score a knockdown at some stage in Sin City.

With that in mind, odds of 11/2 on the supreme Mexican outpointing Khan are definitely worth taking up in Coral’s bet of the day. So don’t miss out for what should be an exciting bout in Vegas!
