Coral’s bet of the day

  • MvG has whopping 53 180s already this Premier League
  • Next highest is Wright with just 39 maximums
  • Van Gerwen is the most devastating player in the world

Van Gerwen is 9/4 to get the most 180s in Week 13

As the 2016 Premier League Darts gets to the business end of the season, with just three rounds of fixtures to go until the play-offs at London’s O2 Arena, Coral pick out an enticing bet of the day from the event.

Odds of 9/4 say that world number one Michael van Gerwen will throw the most 180s on the night against James Wade in week 13 at the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham – not including the evening finale between Scottish duo Peter Wright and Gary Anderson.

Mighty Mike is currently the most dominant and devastating player on tour, overtaking even the great Phil Taylor’s in terms of ability in recent years.

On top of hitting 180s for fun, the deadly Dutchman recently smashed The Power’s televised average in this year’s Premier League by getting a ridiculous 123.40, and has more often than not managed well above 100 this season.

Record-breaker MvG in high confidence

Speaking on his form, the 27-year-old said: “I feel good and I would like to win more tournaments. When you are confident, that is the most important thing in darts I think. You’ve got to be mentally quite strong and I think I’m quite strong, especially at the moment.

“When you’re playing well, it’s easier to get your focus there and you’re more confident – people look up to you.”

To add to Van Gerwen’s growing dominance, he’s hit 53 180s already this campaign, just nine behind the highest tally last year, and a whopping 14 above the next best this time around Wright.

Mighty Mike has recorded the highest amount of maximums most weeks, so take these tempting odds of 9/4 for him to do so in Birmingham too while you can.
