Monday Night Football’s latest offering sees Premier League title-chasers Tottenham tussle with West Bromwich Albion at White Hart Lane. It may look like an easy three points for Spurs, but the Baggies have proven a thorn for the Londoners before.

Aside from holding Mauricio Pochettino and his men to a draw at The Hawthorns back before Christmas, West Brom have not been beaten by the capital club on enemy turf on any of their last three trips.

The Baggies sank Spurs with a shock 1-0 away win last term, but Tony Pulis’ team still seem unlikely to emerge as 14/1 winners this time out. Having forced four draws from their past seven scuffles with Spurs though, another splitting of spoils at 11/2 could be on the cards.

Tottenham to ignore awards?

Still, this Tottenham vintage is somewhat of a different beast to previous soft-centered Spurs sides, which is reflected in their odds-on 2/9 price for victory.

As it stands, the White Hart Lane crew are still playing catch-up to league leaders Leicester, who play before their rivals on Sunday afternoon. Yet, savvy Argentine coach Pochettino has his in-form outfit chasing another emphatic win to nil (7/10) after three from their past four fixtures.

For better value, punters may want to pounce on odds of 7/5 for Tottenham to be triumphant in both halves, with the club having banned their players from attending the PFA Awards, where four Spurs stars included in the organisations team of the season.

When asked about whether his team would be at the ceremony, tactician Pochettino said: “At home. At home. At home! But this is normal and all people can understand. It’s a shame but we play Monday.

“It’s true that the players would like to go but I think the responsibility when you have a big game for us like West Brom on Monday – you need to stay at home, rest and focus on the game. After the game on Monday, we have time for a party or to congratulate the players – for everything!”

Kane, Eriksen and Alli to continue rampant run

Two Tottenham talents are also nominated for the most prestigious prizes, with hitman Harry Kane in the running for player of the year and attacking midfielder Alli in contention for young player of the year.

Kane, who currently leads the Premier League top scorer chart with 24 goals, has a chance to increase his tally while rival striker Jamie Vardy sits out a suspension. The England sharpshooter has bagged two braces in his past four outings and also dispatched a double against Albion last term, so is a tempting 7/2 (max stake £20) to equal or better that haul again.

Partner in crime and fellow Three Lions international Alli clinched the opener in the reverse and is 9/2 to notch first once more, having hit home three times in his past two matches. Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen enjoyed breaching the Baggies’ backline, with three strikes from his previous five appearances against the Midlands men.

Albion to end goal drought?

Away from home West Brom may fancy their chances of pinching a point, but further spark up front is needed for that to happen.

Pulis’ guys have drawn a blank in four of their last five fixtures, and are without a win for five matchweeks.

Wingman James McClean nabbed the equaliser against this opposition in the reverse and is 6/1 to sink one past Spurs anytime again. While, Saido Berahino (7/2 in the same market) could also be a scoring shout if he wishes to put himself in the shop window, with Tottenham potential suitors this summer.
