Southfield Theatre 8-1 to give Nicholls success at Sandown

| 18.04.2016

Southfield Theatre has been cut into 8-1 (from 10-1) by bookmaker Coral to win the Bet365 Gold Cup on Saturday for trainer Paul Nicholls who is just ahead of Willie Mullins in the race for the 2015-16 UK National Hunt Trainers’ Championship leading into the finale meeting at Sandown.

Henri Parry Morgan has also been popular in Coral’s ante-post book for the feature on Saturday at the Esher track in which it is currently second best in the market at 10-1 with Coral along with The Young Master and Measureofmydreams, who came down early in the Coral Scottish Grand National two days ago.

Meanwhile, in the betting for UK National Hunt Trainers’ Championship, Nicholls can be backed at 8-11 to lift the title, while Mullins is evens to top the standings at the end of the campaign.

“Southfield Theatre looks to be Paul Nicholls’ best chance in the race on Saturday therefore punters are backing the horse to give its trainer some vital prize money in the chase for the Trainers’ Championship which is going right down to the wire this year,” said Coral’s John Hill.
