Five exciting Eredivisie talents to expect in Premier League arrivals

Fresh from defeat at the hands of the Dutch, English football may just be eyeing another round of Eredivisie imports to soften the blow.

One of the Premier League’s favourite poaching grounds, the Netherlands top division looks to have nurtured another excellent crop of talents tipped as credible transfer targets for England’s elite.

So, Coral give customers the low-down on several sensations to follow in the footsteps of Luis Suarez and co, with these five potentially the pick of the bunch – could they arrive at your club?

Hakim Ziyech (attacking midfielder, Twente)

Here is one star the Netherlands national team just may rue missing out on, as accomplished playmaker Ziyech opted to represent his Moroccan heritage instead, having seemingly been snubbed by Clockwork Orange one too many times.

“That disappointment was the final straw. My family told me to make the decision with my heart, and that has always been Morocco,” Ziyech said.

“As a boy, I watched all the games of the Atlas Lions with my father, and he would have been delighted at my decision. This choice is for him.”

As Dusan Tadic’s direct replacement at Twente, the nimble 23-year-old has an eye for an adventurous pass and more than a nose for goal, having contributed to a whopping 29 of his side’s 44 league goals with 17 strikes and 12 assists this season.

Clearly able to be a protagonist on the pitch for a struggling team outside of the usual Dutch giants, inventive Ziyech should be more Georginio Wijnaldum than Memphis Depay, is ripe for a move and may be snatched for a plum price considering Twente’s off-field issues.

Leicester City, Swansea City and Chelsea have all been mooted to move for the Morocco magician, with the former two tantalising options for apparent Arsenal fan Ziyech to test his abilities at the next level. See his silky skills below:

Sebastien Haller (striker, Utrecht)

France continue to roll fantastic fledgling forward after forward off their production line, and Utrecht hitman Haller has certainly been making waves on the continent.

Another who may have gone under the radar due to not claiming the colours of Ajax, PSV Eindhoven or Feyenoord, this 21-year-old has struck 16 times this term already, helping catapult his club to fifth in the league, with interest by Norwich City supposedly shrugged off already.

Tottenham’s ongoing striker search could lead them to the Eredivisie’s door for this dangerman, renowned for aerial prowess as well as twinkling toes. As Spurs (4/1 with Coral to win the Premier League) seek to keep promoting youth, this Auxerre academy product could be the perfect fit.

Haller’s highlights:

Vincent Janssen (striker, AZ Alkmaar)

This name may already be more than familiar to fans of English football, as the highly-rated hitman helped to down the Three Lions on his first ever Clockwork Orange senior appearance, with an expertly dispatched spot-kick and then assist at Wembley recently.

Much touted before the match, Janssen more than lived up to expectation and is hyped to follow in the footsteps of Dutch goal machines such as Ruud van Nistlerooy, after dispatching 20 times to shoot to the top of the Eredivisie scorers summit.

Having been given the boot by Feyenoord as a teenager, Janssen (21) has gone on to become a talisman, strength of character that will surely attract attention in summer.

Riechedly Bazoer (midfielder, Ajax)

Who hasn’t this Dutch disciple been linked to already? Manchester United are said to have pipped the likes of Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea to the post by tabling an offer for Ajax’s lauded box-to-box midfielder already.

One of those unique, well-rounded youngsters who already seems ready to make the step up, Bazoer (19) is perhaps the most promising of this batch, as he is able to shield the defence but still has the skill to help instigate attacks.

After deciding against a move to Manchester City when younger, strong, tenacious but technically tremendous Bazoer could well be snapped up by a rival this summer – but he will not come cheaply.

Anwar El Ghazi (attacking midfielder, Ajax)

There was much clamour and kerfuffle about another Ajax favourite earlier this season, as El Ghazi shone at the Amsterdam Arena, apparently attracting attention from Old Trafford and more.

His 11 league goals have come in gluts of prolific form, but this wide wizard still has plenty of inconsistencies to iron out.

Things have gone a little quiet since those early rumours, but Spurs continue to be linked to the wily Dutch wingman of North African descent, and a switch to White Hart Lane could well be his best option.

An explosive talent that still seems to need to be nurtured, there would surely be more scope for the 20-year-old to develop under the wing of patient Mauricio Pochettino amid the capital club’s crop of ambitious young stars.
