Coral’s bet of the day

  • Napoli have not beaten Roma at home in their last five attempts
  • The Little Donkeys have been defeated on their past two away days
  • Luciano Spalletti’s side can cut five point gap at Stadio Olimpico
  • Both teams have been high scoring but failing to keep clean sheets

Roma 4/1 to win and both teams score

Coral’s latest bet of the day takes inspiration from Italy, where Serie A presents a fascinating fixture between second and third spots Napoli and Roma, with the Giallorossi aiming to cut the current five point gap with their rivals.

In the Eternal City, Luciano Spalletti’s resurgent Romans are shielded by the fortress Stadio Olimpico, where they have an excellent recent record. So with that in mind, we have selected a superb match special of 4/1 (max stake £20) for Roma to defeat the Little Donkeys and both teams to be on target.

Romans defiant in capital clashes

There is so little to choose between these two in-form Italian giants, but Roma’s home dominance should see them edge proceedings in this power struggle.

The Giallorossi have been defeated on their own turf just once in normal time in their previous 13 Stadio Olimpico outings in all competitions, against Real Madrid in the Champions League, yet punters would need to go all the way back to November for a league loss as hosts.

While, Neapolitan men Napoli do not fare as well when it comes to rumbles on the road, having lost two of their past two trips out from the Stadio San Paolo, with 12 away points from a possible last 18 dropped.

Net threats in abundance

Napoli and Roma have been renowned for their attacking football this term, and are the two highest scoring teams in the Italian top-tier with 72 and 73 notched respectively.

The hosts have not drawn a blank in Serie A since January and have clocked up a fearsome 11 strikes in their past four fixtures, with the likes of Francesco Totti, Eden Dzeko, Mohamed Salah and Stephan El Shaarawy all firing for the Italian capital club. Yet, they have also conceded seven during that time, and look unlikely to keep a clean sheet against Napoli.

Campania club Napoli, meanwhile, welcome back leading Serie A striker Gonzalo Higuain from suspension and are fresh from scoring 10 in their previous four games, though Maurizio Sarri’s side also leaked three and have managed just two shut-outs in five.

So, with Napoli having failed to win in their last five attempts against Roma at the Olimpico, the Giallorossi are worth grabbing at 4/1 (max stake £20) to triumph and both teams score.
