Coral’s bet of the day

  • Man City have scored 16 past West Brom in their past six meetings
  • Of those Sky Blues strikes 13 arrived in first halves
  • Manuel Pellegrini’s men hit two of their three at The Hawthorns in the first 45 this term
  • The Citizens have struck six across all competitions in the past two games

Man City to sink over 1.5 goals in the first-half v Albion

For Coral’s latest bet of the day, it is Manchester City’s turn to star, as the Sky Blues prepare to host West Bromwich Albion at the Etihad in Saturday’s late Premier League kick-off.

Customers can grab City at odds of 5/2 to score over 1.5 goals in their first-half against Albion, which seems mighty generous once you cast your eye over the recent history of this fixture.

As if they needed anymore inspiration, the Citizens should be firing on all cylinders after smashing Bournemouth last time out in the league, as they seek to cement their top four spot with cross-town competitors Manchester United facing much tougher opposition in Tottenham.

A bigger gap could be opened this weekend between the rivals then, but read on to find out even more compelling reasons to back this bet…

City slicker against Baggies

To start with, the Mancunians have loaded much misery onto West Brom, winning 10 of their last 11 meetings and drawing the other.

The Etihad outfit have been particularly potent when playing the Baggies in recent rumbles, with a stupendous 16 goals scored in the past six and, crucially for this wager, a whopping 13 of those came in the first 45 minutes of those matches.

Earlier on Albion’s own patch this term, City highlighted how quickly they historically like to get out the blocks versus the Baggies, blasting two past them in the opening half of a 3-0 rout.

Liverpool v Manchester City - Capital One Cup - Final - Wembley Stadium

While, last campaign saw the Sky Blues score five of their six goals in first halves against Midlands men, showing the Citizens do not hang around against this opposition!

So, with City sides featuring the likes of recently returned Kevin De Bruyne, Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero firing in at least two first-half goals in all of their previous six scuffles with West Brom, that 5/2 price for the match favourites to net over 1.5 looks tremendously tempting. If you also consider the Manchester men have scored six across their past two clashes in all competitions, this flutter may be too tempting to miss out on.
