Coral’s bet of the day

  • Ex-Chelsea man Kalou has bagged 13 Bundesliga goals this season
  • The Ivory Coast attacker has scored six in his past 12 league games
  • Kalou hit a hat-trick against Hannover earlier in the campaign
  • Hertha Berlin sit comfortably in third, while opponents Hannover are rock bottom

Coral’s bet of the day

Friday brings a tempting Bundesliga bet for punters to enjoy, featuring old Chelsea favourite and familiar face Salomon Kalou, as his high-flying side Hertha Berlin host bottom dwellers Hannover 96.

Coral are offering odds of 7/2 for Kalou to strike first for the German capital club in their latest clash, and there are a fair few reasons why you might want to back the former Blues boy at such a princely price…

Kalou a Hertha hero

A far cry from his days at Stamford Bridge, the always promising Kalou has flourished as a forward since packing his bags for Berlin, and this season has been particularly prolific with 16 goals across all competitions, including 13 from 26 in the Bundesliga and three in four DFB Pokal battles.

With six in his last 12 German top-tier outings, Ivorian attacker Kalou is clearly a man in form, and is joint-fifth Bundesliga leading scorer, despite often playing on the wing.

Hertha BSC vs. FC Ingolstadt ends 2:0

That may not sound so fearsome, but when you consider Kalou’s club-leading strikes have catapulted Hertha to third in the league, and left him only behind illustrious names such as Robert Lewandowski, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Thomas Muller and Javier Hernandez in the race for the Golden Boot, it is hugely impressive.

Hapless Hannover a target for hitman

Latest opposition Hannover are in deep drop zone trouble, as they sit 10 points adrift of second from bottom side Eintracht Frankfurt.

Having leaked 52 times in 28 games to leave them with a damning goal difference of minus 30, Kalou will be keen to get on the scoresheet against these relegation risks.

Hertha BSC vs VfL Wolfsburg

The Ivory Coast international already hit a hat-trick past Hannover in his side’s emphatic 3-1 away win earlier this season, so will fancy his 7/2 chances of firing in first again in this reverse versus the struggling Reds.
