Air Force Blue still odds-on for Guineas glory but Galileo Gold is market mover

Long time favourite Air Force Blue heads Coral’s betting for Saturday’s Qipco 2,000 Guineas at 4-6, ahead of the Craven Stakes winner Stormy Antarctic at 7-1, following the final declarations for the season’s opening Classic.  Next in the betting is Galileo Gold, 8-1 (from 14-1) with Coral after signifcant support for the Hugo Palmer-trained colt.

“While Air Force Blue remains hot favourite for the colts’ Classic, there has been opposition to Aidan O’Brien’s charge, with Galileo Gold in particular well-backed against the market leader in the last 24 hours, with punters in agreement with the latter’s trainer Hugo Palmer that the favourite is not invincible,” said Coral’s David Stevens.

“The 2,000 Guineas is consistently one of the top ten betting races of the year, and hopefully that will remain the case with this latest renewal, with the unsettled weather and the mile trip ensuring there are enough question marks against Air Force Blue to make it a lively betting heat,” added Stevens.
