Boston Bob is very classy at his best, with four Grade 1 victories to his credit, as a novice over hurdles and fences, and as a senior in the Melling Chase at Aintree two years ago and the Punchestown Gold Cup three weeks later.
The gelding got back on the winning trail on his most recent run, when he edged out stablemate and fellow Grand National entry On His Own in the Bobbyjo Chase, one of Ireland’s recognised Aintree trials, at Fairyhouse in February.

Boston Bob is a consistent and tough sort who has a tremendous strike rate of 44 per cent. He stays all day long, but can have a tendency to get outpaced at a crucial stage and is not the slickest of jumpers.
