McIlroy 9-1 to win WGC opener at Doral

| 01.03.2016

Rory McIlroy is the 9-1 favourite with leading bookmaker Coral to win the opening WGC event of the year this week, the Cadillac Championship. Recent Honda Classic winner Adam Scott is second best in the betting at 11-1 along with Bubba Watson and Dustin Johnson, while at 12-1 Jordan Spieth is the biggest price he has been for a tournament in 12 months.

“McIlroy and Spieth have both been friendless in the betting so far with the latter set to go off the biggest price he has been in a year,” said Coral’s John Hill.

“Adam Scott looked right back to his best last weekend and punters have been backing the Australian, Bubba Watson and Dustin Johnson to take advantage of the huge hitting course at Doral,” added Hill.
