Luke Morris is expecting to visit the winners’ enclosure at Wolverhampton on Friday

This week has all been about the Cheltenham Festival and the racing has been fantastic as always but now it’s come to an end all the focus should be turning to the brilliant action at Lingfield on Good Friday next week.

I’m delighted to be riding there having got my suspension overturned and at the moment my main ride looks to be Lightscameraction in the Sprint.

He’s in good form and connections had the choice of going to Dubai or going to Good Friday and they’ve opted to go to Good Friday, which shows you how highly the meeting is regarded now. Lightscameraction’s also got a better chance there realistically being a multiple Lingfield winner. It was a career best to win last time and he’s a good ride to have. Hopefully he’ll be thereabouts.

Lingfield Good Friday

It has been a brilliant winter and, touch wood, I’ll be champion jockey for the all-weather again which would be great. I think what has stood out though are the wins for Lamar and Don’t Be in their Listed races.

As both are fillies it’s really important for their paddock value that they won Listed races and it’s really nice that they have both been retired as Listed winners. Both have been good servants to me and they were real favourites of mine. I hope they enjoy their retirement because they deserve it.

I’m riding at Wolverhampton this evening and fingers crossed I can grab a winner or two.

Motivate – 6.15 Wolverhampton
He’s a horse that’s been slow to come to hand. He’s probably going to improve for the experience and I’d imagine he’ll need a couple of runs to really find his feet. He might make up into a nice horse one day but he’ll need this run mentally today.

Stencive – 6.45 Wolverhampton
He’s dropped to a good handicap mark but he was disappointing the last day. He’s got a tongue tie on for the first time in this race, which hopefully might help him a little bit. He’s dropped now from a mark up near 100 down to 82 so I’m hoping he might start to show a bit of something, but until he does he’s probably best watched I think.

Horse Racing - Sandown Racecourse

Eurato – 8.15 Wolverhampton
He’d dropped from a mark in the 80s down to 52 so was well handicapped when he won last time. He got the job done last time and I think the handicapper has been kind only putting him up the 3lb for winning. This is his trip and you’d be disappointed if he didn’t follow up as I think he’s got a strong chance. When horses like him do finally get their head in front it does them the world of good and he could be one to might win a couple more.

Wedgewood Estates – 8.45 Wolverhampton
She’s won around the course before and likes the track which is a plus. I rode her when she was second last time and she didn’t have any excuses that day. She’s in good form and is sure to have a chance but she doesn’t have a lot in hand with the handicapper so she’s always vulnerable.

Cheers,
Luke
