Five 2016 Festival accas to consider: Geraghty, Mullins, Nicholls, Tizzard feature

With the advent of online and mobile betting, accumulators or accas for short have become hugely popular, especially on big sporting events like the Premier League or Cheltenham Festival.
That latter four-day spectacular is now upon us with the marquee meeting around Prestbury Park on our screens from March 15th-18th, and that means there’s money to be made!
Coral’s expert tipsters have been racking their brains to think up five accas that punters should consider for the 2016 Cheltenham Festival. Please note that all returns quoted below were correct at the time of writing, with odds subject to considerable change throughout the meeting.
Willie Mullins day one fourfold
Leading Irish trainer Willie Mullins has favourites in the four big races on day one of the Festival. Min goes in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle which opens proceedings at 13:30 GMT on Tuesday, while Douvan is odds-on to keep the Arkle Challenge Trophy in his trainer’s hands after the 2015 success of Un De Sceaux.
With connections paying £20k to supplement her for entry in the Champion Hurdle, Annie Power starts as favourite to claim day one’s feature contest, while fellow mare Vroum Vroum Mag enjoys similar status in the OLBG Mares’ Hurdle.
Magnificent Mullins had four of his record eight winners at last year’s Cheltenham Festival on the opening day last year, and the bookies clearly fear him. Putting just €/£4 on another quartet of victories on day one this year will return more than €/£70.

If that isn’t a tempting enough acca, why not add in odds-on Queen Mother Champion Chase (day two) and Dawn Run Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle (day three) favourites Un De Sceaux and Limini into the bargain?
Going with a heralded half-dozen of Mullins horses wagering just €/£2 will land almost €/£105 profit in your Coral account, and that means you’re getting more than 50/1 on this sensational sixfold.

Barry Geraghty day two double
Irish jockey Barry Geraghty has great claims of taking both of the first two races on Queen Mother Champion Chase day; Wednesday, March 16th.
On board odds-on Neptune Novices’ Hurdle favourite Yanworth and the fancied More Of That in the RSA Chase, you can get a nifty 9/2 double on Geraghty, with a €/£10 investment returning €/£55.
Paul Nicholls each-way treble
While top British trainer Paul Nicholls has few if any favourites going into this year’s Festival, he does have a magnificent Cheltenham record and surely can’t leave the 2016 edition empty-handed.
Taking trio Dodging Bullets (2015 Queen Mother Champion Chase winner), Vibrato Valtat (Ryanair Chase) and Saphir Du Rheu (World Hurdle, the feature race of day three) each-way means a fraction of the odds (either a quarter or fifth for the first three or four past the post) will be paid out if these selections finish in the places.
Putting on just €/£1 each-way (€/£2 total wager) could return a maximum of almost €/£1240. With such an amount riding on this tasty treble for so small a stake, this has to be worthy of consideration.
Colin Tizzard double
Don’t overlook some of the smaller stables at this year’s Cheltenham Festival. Colin Tizzard has red-hot World Hurdle favourite Thistlecrack and 2016 Cheltenham Gold Cup entrant Cue Card, who has won all three of his starts this season – including the King George VI Chase at Kempton.
A €/£3.50 gamble on this delightful double returns just over €/£40, and this could be a worthy investment. Cue Card has surprised this term no doubt, while Thistlecrack cruised to Long Walk and Cleeve Hurdle (around course and distance) successes.
