England 7-2 to win T20 World Cup

Published:

England have been cut into 7-2 (from 11-2) by leading bookmaker Coral to win the T20 World Cup in India after reaching the semi-final of the competition this afternoon following a victory over Sri Lanka. The hosts, India, remain the 11-4 favourites to lift the trophy, while New Zealand, who are likely to be England’s opponents in the last four, are 10-3.

“England have been well backed to win the Twenty20 World Cup for the second time in history so those punters who backed them at much bigger prices than they are now breathed a sigh of relief as they edged past Sri Lanka to make the semi-finals,” said Coral’s John Hill.

“India remain the favourites to lift the trophy, however, they have to beat Australia in their final group game to reach the last four so the betting could be shaken up if the Aussies can beat the hosts in their group decider.” added Hill.
