Coral’s bet of the day

  • Crystal Palace have progressed all three times they’ve met Reading in FA Cup
  • The Eagles have won five of their last six away games in this competition
  • Palace have beaten three Premier League sides in a row to get here

Palace beat Reading and both teams score 9/2

The FA Cup takes centre stage tonight, as Crystal Palace travel to Reading for their quarter-final encounter at the Madejski Stadium, and you can back the visitors to triumph with both sides scoring at 9/2 (£20 max stake) as Coral’s latest bet of the day.

Crystal Palace v Liverpool - Barclays Premier League - Selhurst Park

Alan Pardew’s Eagles are clearly focusing on cup duties this term, with their only victories of 2016 coming in this famous knockout competition, and they will be confident of earning progression to the semi-finals.

Coming into this match-up with Championship opposition should be of no worry to Palace, with the top-flight outfit having overcome three successive Premier League rivals to reach this point, toppling all of Southampton, Stoke and Tottenham.

Eagles can soar into semis

Pardew’s men have seen away games as no disadvantage either in previous cup ties, after securing victory in five of their last six outings on the road in this competition, including wins in each of their previous four.

In their first quarter-final appearance since 1995, the top tier team will be out to down their Championship opposition and reach a coveted Wembley spot, but could be tested at the back, with the last five fixture meetings having produced a mammoth 24 goals.

Tottenham Hotspur v Crystal Palace - Emirates FA Cup - Fifth Round - White Hart Lane

A key statistic for the Eagles is the fact they have progressed on all three occasions that they have faced Reading in the FA Cup, and are further boosted by their opponent’s injury absentees.

The Royals’ FA Cup top scorer Matej Vydra is doubtful with a hamstring problem, while they will also be without cup-tied pair George Evans and Yann Kermorgant. Pardew is bolstered by the return of reliable wingman Jason Puncheon and stopper Wayne Hennessey, so make sure to back Palace for victory and both sides to strike at 9/2 (£20 max stake)!
