Coral’s bet of the day

  • Marco Fu plays Judd Trump on home soil in China Open
  • He won their first ever meeting in China with a 5-2 result
  • Fu has prevailed in two of their last three match-ups

Fu 7/4 to overcome Trump in China

The China Open takes centre stage on the snooker calendar this week, and Coral’s bet of the day comes from a tasty meeting between Judd Trump and Marco Fu, in which the latter potter is 7/4 to secure victory.

Snooker - 2015 Dafabet Masters - Day Five - Alexandra Palace

Hong Kong cueman Fu will be relishing another major ranking event on his home soil and, having beaten Trump in their first-ever meeting which was interestingly at the China Open way back in 2007, he will be gunning for further success here.

The two-time ranking event winner four-time Gold medallist at the Asian Games takes huge confidence and momentum into this last 16 encounter, having emphatically dispatched Robert Milkins with a devastating 5-0 whitewash to reach this stage.

Chinese cueist can tackle Trump

Before impressively downing the Milkman without conceding a frame, Fu has toppled Welshman Gareth Allen in his opening match-up with a 5-2 result then prevailed by the same scoreline over compatriot Yu Delu, proving his brilliant baize form.

Snooker - Betfred World Championship - Day Nine - Crucible Theatre

In previous collisions with Bristol’s Trump, Fu’s overall record may not be too complimentary, but in recent encounters he has gained the upper-hand, rallying to two victories from their previous three clashes since January 2015.

Those double of wins were over short formatted games too, adding to Fu’s impressive run in the quicker set-ups over his latest opponent. At the 2014 Masters, Fu earned a 6-5 triumph against the Juddernaut, a 5-2 success in the 2007 China Open and also boasts four Champions League fixture wins too.

In what is potentially set to be a tighter baize battle than many had initially expected, make sure to back the in-form Chinese cueist Fu to topple Trump in their last 16 clash at a promising 7/4!
