With red-hot favourite Djakadam suffering a dramatic fall, Alan King’s Hennessy Gold Cup winner Smad Place took full advantage to thrash 2015 Grand National winner Many Clouds by 12 lengths in the old Cotswold Chase.

This race is widely considered to be an acid test trial for the Cheltenham Gold Cup, the blue ribbon event in National Hunt chasing and centrepiece of the Festival at Presbury Park.
