Tungsten giants to tussle on Tyneside
It’s time for Premier League Darts Night Two already, with Newcastle playing host after the cracking curtain raiser in Leeds last week led to several shocks, as world number one Michael van Gerwen was rocked by James Wade and Phil Taylor stunned by Raymond van Barneveld.
There should be more top-drawer darting dust-ups on show this Thursday, with several thrilling fixtures on the roster for fans, including Mighty Mike’s magnificent match-up with Premier League holder Gary Anderson, who returns to the oche after illness. While, Barney sharpens his arrows in preparation for an encounter with Peter Wright.
So, in anticipation of another enthralling evening at the darts, Coral grab a pitcher of beer, pick out a costume and preview the second night of scraps…
Michael Smith v Robert Thornton

It looked as though Thornton (2/1) would prove a prickly customer in more competitions after nabbing the Grand Prix, but a 7-0 trouncing from Chizzy on his Premier League return means the veteran has already given himself much ground to make up.
Meanwhile, youngster Smith finds himself with two losses on the table, after stepping in against Jackpot for an ill Anderson. However, Bully Boy has more than enough in his locker to turn it around, and is 9/5 to come out all-guns-blazing and bag a 180 in the first leg.
Raymond van Barneveld v Peter Wright

The Dutch great swept Phil Taylor aside on Night One in Leeds, with an average of over 103, which is why it makes sense to place a Thursday flutter on Barney at even-money to rack up the highest checkout.
Stealthily, Van Barneveld crept up to pull the plug on The Power, and his patience can also be the undoing of the more exuberant Wright (11/10 favourite), with a tasty 7/4 price for Barney to make it two wins on the bounce.
Adrian Lewis v Dave Chisnall

As Chisnall narrowly edges head-to-heads by 10-9, punters can plump for the Englishman at 8/5 to win, while recent Worlds finalist Lewis has also been on a real roll of late, and has greater experience at the business end, which makes the Stoke-born star match favourite at 6/5.
Gary Anderson v Michael van Gerwen

World Champion Anderson will know how important it is to get ahead as he must wait until Night Seven to catch up on his missed match, so The Flying Scotsman is fine value at 13/5 to win this clash of the giants against Van Gerwen (8/11).
Though, the Dutchman is always most dangerous at being defeated and, despite his opening disappointment still managed to nab the highest checkout of the night, so is odds-on at 8/13 to repeat, and 6/5 for most maximums.
Should you fancy a dabble on the scoreline between 2015’s Premier League finalists, you can back Anderson to emerge triumphant again at 11/1 with an 11-5 result in his favour.
James Wade v Phil Taylor

The Machine was prolific at the First Direct Arena, taking out joint-most maximums on the evening with five on the board, so punters can back Wade to shine again at 5/4 to score the highest number of 180s in his duel with The Power.
