Bookmaker Coral has installed Louis Tomlinson as the clear 1-3 favourite to replace Nick Grimshaw, after he quit the show last night. Former judge Louis Walsh is 2-1 to make a return, while Nicole Scherzinger and Mel B are both priced at 3-1. Other names in the mix include Demi Lovato and Niall Horan at 4-1, Robbie Williams at 9-2, and Kim Kardashian at 20-1.

Meanwhile, Dermot O’Leary is even money to replace Caroline Flack as the show’s presenter, ahead of Rylan Clark at 2-1 and Emma Willis at 3-1. Ant and Dec have been chalked up at 4-1, Mark Wright is 8-1, while Ryan Seacrest is 12-1.

The odds on the X Factor being scrapped next season have been slash to 2-1 from 4-1 following the latest shake-up.

“Louis Tomlinson is the early favourite to take a seat on the judging panel after he impressed as a guest at the judges’ houses. However with a lot of former judges looking to return we could see the likes of Sharon Osbourne or Louis Walsh make a comeback,” said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.

“The show was never the same when Dermot O’Leary left and the odds suggest that Simon will give him his old job back,” added McGeady.
