Coral’s bet of the day

  • Van Gerwen and Lewis have most 180s in Premier League so far
  • Duo are the most in-form players on tour right now
  • Mighty Mike and Jackpot hit 180s for fun

MvG and Lewis match has most 180s on Night Three at 2/1

The 2016 Premier League Darts continues this Thursday in Dublin, Ireland, as Night Three sees all 10 stars battle it out for the first time this season.

One of the key clashes is between Michael van Gerwen and Adrian Lewis, a match which Coral have chosen for bet of the day, with odds of 2/1 available for it to produce the most maximums of the evening.

So far, in the first two weeks this PL season, Mighty Mike and Jackpot lead the way for 180s, with nine and eight respectively, despite having played a match fewer than both James Wade and Michael Smith.

Usual maximums man Dave Chisnall is lagging behind on seven, and he goes up against Bully Boy (three), who has been far from his best in his debut Premier League tournament, on Night Three, so stay away form this match.

Rest of fixtures unlikely to produce fireworks

The other three fixtures involve veterans Robert Thornton (0) and Raymond van Barneveld (5), Phil Taylor (3) against Gary Anderson (1) and Peter Wright (7) v James Wade (6).

This battle is all the more important as it sees perhaps two of the most in-form players on tour right now, with Van Gerwen the holder of six major televised titles and Lewis a recent World Championship runner-up.

Jackpot is also top of the Premier League table, after dispatching Smith and Chisnall with relative ease, while MvG will be hoping to knock him off his perch having suffered an unexpected setback on Night One against Wade.

So, expect fireworks and for these two to get the best out of each other, and back them to produce the most 180s of the evening at 2/1.
