Spurs seek to bounce back from narrow Foxes defeat

Tottenham, following a slight blip against Leicester, will be aiming to take all three points against Sunderland, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side odds-on at 3/10 with Coral for the win, as they seek to cement their position in the Premier League top four in the next few matches.

Last season, Spurs emerged victorious in this fixture, with a 2-1 win, with Christian Eriksen among the scorers. At 7/4 to net in the anytime market, the Dane is good value once again and can cause problems for the Black Cats.

Harry Kane, meanwhile, will be looking to get back among the goals, with the striker last dispatching in the FA Cup against the Foxes last weekend. At 11/4 to break the deadlock, this isn’t bad value considering the Black Cats leaky rearguard.

Midfield might can overwhelm visitors

When they click, Spurs arguably have one of the best midfields in the Premier League, loaded with talent that includes the aforementioned Eriksen, rising star Dele Alli, the transformed Eric Dier and Erik Lamela, who is starting to really justify his lucrative price tag.

Throw new signing Heung-Min Son into the mix then consider Belgian boys Nacer Chadli plus Mousa Dembele and you start to get a picture of the hosts’ potential.

Alli, who dispatched against Everton recently has shown that he has a sharp eye for goal, with an ability to score a wide range strikes. He is 5/1 to break the deadlock, however in the reverse fixture this term, it was Ryan Mason who netted the only goal and his odds are 11/4 anytime.

Argentine Lamela is one who has the craft to cause problems to the visitors’ rearguard and can torment them. At 2/1 to strike anytime the attacker last struck towards the end of December in the win over Watford and could be on target once more.

Recent revival to spark Sunderland survival?

Under Sam Allardyce, the Black Cats have started to show that they have enough about them to stay in the top flight this season. With two consecutive wins in the Premier League, things are starting to look up for the Wearside outfit.

Striker Jermain Defoe will be looking to come back and haunt his former club, having hit five goals in his last two matches, including a hat-trick last time out.

At 11/4 in the anytime market, he is definitely worth considering and though Spurs boast a relatively solid backline, his low centre of gravity and movement could certainly trouble Toby Alderweireld.

Steven Fletcher, meanwhile, can expose Spurs at set-pieces as Robert Huth showed for Leicester last time out and also has 11/4 odds in the anytime market.
