Four tempting Serie A tips

As the Italian top-tier resumes this midweek, following a traditional festive break, Coral put down the panettone and bring customers four tips worth a flutter from the televised January 6th fixtures, to celebrate Serie A’s welcome return

Udinese v Atalanta: 11/5 for a splitting of spoils

Italy Soccer Serie A
In this early pre-lunch kick-off (11:30 GMT), viewers will get the chance to see these two tenacious midtable teams flex their muscles in a clash which should be highly competitive, as just three points sit between them.

Our pick for this tussle is a draw at 11/5, as six of their last 10 scuffles across all competitions have ended evenly – a stat simply too good to ignore!

Juventus v Hellas Verona: Over 3.5 goals in game at 8/5

Italy Soccer Serie A
This price of 8/5 for over 3.5 strikes is worth pouncing upon for punters as, not only have Scudetto holders Juve struck 10 in their past three outings across all competitions, but the last four meetings between these two northern teams have yielded a whopping 19 goals.

Crafty Croatian Mario Mandzukic is currently in ferocious form for the Old Lady with three in as many matches, while last term’s joint-top Serie A scorer, Luca Toni, has returned to duty for the guests, so both sides boast threat.

Empoli v Inter Milan: Massimo Maccarone 13/2 to fire in last

Italy Soccer Serie A
A familiar name could return to haunt Serie A leaders Inter, who have slumped slightly with two defeats from their last five duels.

Marksman Maccarone will be a familiar name to many, as the Italy-capped attacker spent time up top for Middlesbrough from 2002-2007, but began his career with Inter’s bitter city rivals AC Milan.

This blast from the past is currently in-form for Empoli, with Big Mac have bagged four in his last two games – impressive back-to-back braces against Bologna and Carpi. Mischievous Maccarone crucially had the final say in both of those fixtures and is 13/2 to find the net last again.

The Nerrazzuri are notably tight at the back but intriguing package Empoli have only drawn blanks in two of their 17 league games, with Maccarone most menacing at home, where four of his seven strikes have occurred.

Napoli v Torino: Little Donkeys 6/5 to win to nil

Italy Soccer Serie A
Turin team Torino are in a torrid run, with no win in three and five goals leaked in their last two matches. Crucially, they also failed to find the net in those past two tussles, and have won only two of eight on their travels.

As title-chasers Napoli have scored six in two games, and lost just twice all term in all competitions, they are great value to win to nil at home, where they remain undefeated. With an outright victory for the Campania club odds-on at 2/5, a wager of 6/5 is far more appealing for three points plus a shut-out.
