Ireland 1-7 to land Timico Gold Cup

SPORTSBOOK ODDS

Last year’s runner-up Djakadam is 7-2 favourite with Coral to go one better in this season’s Timico Gold Cup, following the latest entry stage for the Cheltenham showpiece.  In a market dominated by Irish-trained runners, Don Cossack and Don Poli are the 5-1 joint second favourites, ahead of the leading home challenger Cue Card at 6-1, and yet another raider in Vautour, 8-1.

Coral are 1-7 that the Gold Cup winner is trained in Ireland, and 9-2 that the prize stays in the UK.

“With six of the first seven in our betting trained across the Irish Sea, it’s long odds-on this season’s Timico Gold Cup is set for export, with Willie Mullins in particular holding a typically strong looking hand as he bids to win the race for a first time,” said Coral’s David Stevens.

Elsewhere, Modus heads Coral’s betting for the Betfair Hurdle at 8-1, ahead of Affaire D’Honneur and Le Prezien, both 14-1.
