Arsenal to attack Liverpool injury woes

Premier League leaders Arsenal’s trip to Anfield could not arrive at a worse time for injury-stricken hosts Liverpool, with Coral offering the Gunners at 29/20 to blast their way to a win against the Reds’ wafer-thin defence.

Centre half Kolo Toure could be in contention for this crucial clash, while coach Jurgen Klopp may welcome back another to the heart of his defence in Mamadou Sakho, though both are question marks. Still, the Reds rearguard is rocky and could come unstuck spectacularly against their goal-hungry guests, with Arsenal offered at 9/2 to score three or more.

Sanchez still sidelined

Recent dust-ups between this pair of Premier League giants have, more often than not, brought spades of entertainment, with the Gunners 4-1 win last term and the Reds’ 2014 5-1 thrashing of the capital club springing to mind.

Though, most recently, these fixtures have been fairly even, with two of the last three frays draws and customers can back a splitting of spoils again at 12/5 should they prefer.

However, the Gunners have still been grabbing goals despite star attraction Alexis Sanchez being out of action and will hope to continue their charge toward the title. Chile attacker Sanchez was tipped to return for this trip, but Arsene Wenger told press: “Liverpool will come too soon for Alexis Sanchez but he may be back for Stoke.

“If you listen to Alexis he’s always keen to play even when injured but we try to be cautious, but with a muscular injury you never know how big the risk is. But he’s very, very close.”

Reds fans will not be too relieved, though, as Arsenal still have plenty of potent reserve in their armory, and none-less than Germany magician Mesut Ozil.

Ozil to lead Arsenal attack

The Gunners’ assist machine extraordinaire has supplied 16 assists in 19 league outings for teammates this term, drawing much applause, but has also bagged against the Reds before, and is 11/4 to do so again anytime.

Another in attack for Arsenal, hitman Olivier Giroud, grabbed two in as many matches versus Liverpool last term, so is tempting at 9/2 to net first. While, Theo Walcott is an excellent 11/2 to have the final say.

For the hosts, Klopp’s hopes will centre around flexible forward Roberto Firmino (2/1 in the anytime market) and big Belgian Christian Benteke (7/4), with star man Philippe Coutinho still absent.
