Coral’s Weekend in pictures features action shots from a diverse array of sports which served up some great entertainment.

Anderson’s arrows

Gary Anderson won the World Darts Championship, beating Adrian Lewis in a fantastic final, becoming only the fourth person to successfully defend a WDC title. Asked whether he can make it three, the Scotsman said: “It would [be] lovely you know, but I’m getting older, the body is starting to hurt, but Ady will lift this title more than a dozen times.

“He’s got all the time in the world. Us older ones, it’s running out but we’ll keep plodding on, we’ll give it a good shot next year.”

Wonderful West Ham

Andy Carroll was fantastic in his side’s terrific 2-0 win over Liverpool, scoring his team’s second goal, as the Reds struggled to break down an extremely well-drilled West Ham outfit, who are 5/1 with Coral to secure a top six finish.

Manager Slaven Bilic was impressed with his centre forward: “He [Carroll] looks really good and fit and it’s all about him now,” said Bilic. “Is he going to maintain and progress and look after himself, or is he going to go the other way? He has history in that and I’m not his dad, I can’t demand things from him. But I’m expecting that to be fair.”

Super Steelers

In NFL news, the Pittsburgh Steelers secured a spot in the play-offs as they cruised to a 28-12 win over the Cleveland Browns, to pinch the final AFC wildcard place.

Gary Neville’s Valencia hold Real Madrid

Striker Paco Alcacer helped Valencia nick a point off Real Madrid as Gary Neville stifled former rival Rafa Benitez. Both were on the touchline as respective managers this time around, though Neville was part of the Manchester United side that faced Liverpool on numerous occasions while Benitez was in charge and will no doubt be happy with the 2-2 draw.
