Carroll linked with both Northeast PL sides

Slaven Bilic enjoyed a great start to the New Year with West Ham United, guiding his east London side to victory over Liverpool in the 2016 Premier League opener, but the Croatian boss has reportedly been told to offload players before making January acquisitions.

In that 2-0 win over Jurgen Klopp’s Reds, Andy Carroll was on target against his old employers with a close-range header, but he is being linked heavily with a move to another former club Newcastle United and their Northeast rivals Sunderland this month.

It’s believed the Hammers are willing to offload the indifferent frontman in order to make room for new signings in this winter window, with his old side Newcastle keen to secure his services once again.

Although, they face stiff competition for Carroll’s signature from bitter city rivals Sunderland, as Sam Allardyce looks to add firepower to his misfiring ranks in order to make a successful survival bid.

Arsenal gunning for Deeney

Odion Ighalo has been capturing the headlines for Watford this season during his team’s incredible march into the top 10 places after being promoted from the Championship last term.

But it seems it’s club captain Troy Deeney who is catching the eye of the division’s current in-form leaders Arsenal, with Arsene Wenger’s Gunners reportedly keen on acquiring the Hornets hitman.

The 27-year-old is on a fine run of form with six goals in 11 outings and Wenger is believed to be a big fan of the Watford powerhouse striker, who could help fire the Londoners to their first league title in 12 years.

Arsenal are leading the chase for the lucrative silverware this term and their French boss revealed that he was keen on seeing at least two new faces arrive at the Emirates, with one of those set to be Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny.

Palace pounce for top-Shelv signing

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew already pulled off a cracker signing in last summer’s transfer window when he oversaw the stunning arrival of France international midfield maestro Yohan Cabaye, and another coup could be on the way.

The Eagles are soaring in seventh position so far this term and have been linked with Swansea City engine Jonjo Shelvey, with the England international anchorman having fallen out of favour in Wales.

Swansea have endured a disastrous domestic decline this season and Shelvey may be tempted to seek new surroundings at Selhurst Park, where he could be in with a chance of helping Palace clinch a European spot.
