Real raids by Madrid giants

Real Madrid’s impending transfer ban could send shock waves through the winter window, and particularly in the Premier League, as the Spanish powerhouse prepare to poach a host of high-profile targets in January, while they still can.

Out-of-form Chelsea star Eden Hazard, Manchester United stopper David De Gea and Manchester City marksman Sergio Aguero are all said to be on the extensive, and expensive, hitlist, with Los Blancos believed to be ready to splurge as much as £250m this month.

The Bernabeu could really go British, with England internationals Harry Kane and John Stones also being eyed by the Madrid money men, while Juventus midfield dynamo Paul Pogba and Bayern Munich goal-getter Robert Lewandowski could also feature in this Spanish supermarket sweep.

Arsenal in for Morata, Chelsea pounce for Pato

While, rumour has it Arsenal will seek to take advantage of Real’s transfer distraction to nip in and swoop for Juve striker Alvaro Morata. The Spanish sharpshooter was flogged by Los Blancos back in 2014, though a reported buy-back clause could cause problems should the Gunners try to acquire the Old Lady’s attacker.

Across the English capital, Chelsea are said to have entered talks for Brazilian forward Alexandre Pato, who was previously tipped to move to rivals Liverpool. Though, £10m may be required to prise the ex-AC Milan predator from South America, with Guus Hiddink apparently told he must offload French forward Loic Remy first.

In further Blues news, Chelsea are to be buoyed by Atletico Madrid’s transfer ban, with coveted coach Diego Simeone now potentially available this summer should buying sanctions be brought in.

Berahino to do the Fox-trot?

West Bromwich Albion may be trying to cling on to striking starlet Saido Berahino in the face of mooted interest from Chelsea, Tottenham, Newcastle United and Liverpool, yet Leicester City have also now entered the frame for his services.

Claudio Ranieri could be looking ahead, with leading man Jamie Vardy tipped for a King Power exit, and the Italian coach has financial backing to build. Also linked to ambitious Leicester is FC Copenhagen defender Daniel Amartey, with £5m believed to be enough to grab the Ghanaian.

One winger in, one winger out

As for Northeast transfer action, Newcastle seem far from done with their winter shopping, and are reportedly finally ready to splash out on Tottenham’s out-of-favour winger Andros Townsend. Though, heading for the St James’ Park exit will be French flank flop Florian Thauvin, with Marseille circling to take their ex-attacker back to Ligue 1 on loan.

Finally, in more European transfer shuffling, Borussia Dortmund are interested in shelling out for Dynamo Kiev Andriy Yarmolenko, while lethal Lyon frontman Alexandre Lacazette appears to be eyeing the Premier League.

The France international recently told press: “Yes, I am thinking about it and the Premier League is very attractive for a player.

“There is no formal agreement that I will go but the president knows that it’s a possibility that I will leave Lyon at the end of the season,” added the striker, who has previously been connected with Arsenal and Liverpool.
