Man Utd transfer traffic to increase

Manchester United are the big Premier League club touted to make waves in the next two transfer windows, with Neymar, Ryan Bertrand and more waking to find themselves tipped to move to Old Trafford.

Of course, the Red Devils’ apparent interest in Barcelona and Brazil superstar Neymar is nothing new, but the rumours just won’t go away, with the latest gossip suggesting the Samba star could stand to make around £15m a year, as Man Utd and rivals Manchester City square up to scrap for the forward’s services.

While, well known for forking out big sums on young potential, the Old Trafford outfit are chasing another teenage sensation to add to their ranks in Renato Sanches of Benfica, though a whopping £30m is the mooted price for the Portuguese midfield prodigy.

Speaking of starlets, left back Luke Shaw’s continued injury absence may force Man Utd to move for a new full back this month, with Southampton and former Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand the defender likely to be drafted in. Though, if £20m proves too steep for the Englishman’s signature, another former Blues man in Ashley Cole, currently a free agent, could be the interim answer.

Chelsea tracking Italian tactician?

It may seem as though Premier League champions Chelsea have already hired and fired all the top managers in world football at least once, but the Blues have apparently found themselves a fresh coaching candidate in current Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri.

The Scudetto-winner is on the London club’s managerial hitlist for this summer according to reports, though another top tactician appears to have put his hat in the ring for the Stamford Bridge hotseat.

Speaking to press about compatriot and temporary Chelsea coach Guus Hiddink, Southampton gaffer Ronald Koeman said: “If Guus puts a good word in for me, that would be a big influence. It is certainly something that I always have at the back of my mind.

“I always want to achieve the highest possible level. That’s what I’d really like to achieve abroad.”

And, in other Chelsea gossip, the capital club are being linked with a Ligue 1 plundering of PSG, for silky centre half Thiago Silva in summer. However, as the Brazilian defender is now 31, he would hardly help to rejuvenate their creaky rearguard.

No swap for Swans and Sunderland

Finally, in other news, Swansea City seem to have learned a lesson from offloading Jonjo Shelvey to relegation rivals Newcastle United and will not be involved in a swap deal with fellow struggling side Sunderland.

Black Cats forward Fabio Borini is of interest to the Swans, though star attacker Andre Ayew will not be moving the other way in exchange, as coach Alan Curtis said: “I spoke to the chairman this morning just to clarify the situation and he assures me that there is no way that Andre will be allowed to leave during this window.”
