Liverpool, 5/2 with Coral for a top four finish, are under increasing pressure to enter the transfer window this January, following increased injuries to their squad.

Klopp keen on Gotze plus others?

In recent weeks, manager Jurgen Klopp has reportedly been speaking to highly rated attacking midfielder Mario Gotze who he managed at Borussia Dortmund, with the player uncertain about his future at Bayern Munich.

Whether this is a move that would happen in January, if at all, remains to be seen, though there is no doubt that he would fit right in at the Reds.

With Philippe Coutinho out injured for a month, Liverpool lack a creative spark and could well launch a highly optimistic bid in January.

Klopp is also said to be keen on bringing back Mario Balotelli from his loan spell in Italy, with the Reds running increasingly short on firepower.

Gunning for Ighalo

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has reportedly earmarked Watford striker Odion Ighalo for a move to the Emirates in the summer, with the Frenchman said to be interested in bringing a forward in.

Tabloids have linked the club with a move for Ighalo’s strike partner, Troy Deeney in this transfer window, though this at the minute is nothing more than fantasist paper talk.

Whether Watford will let either of their star players go, remains to be seen, with the Hornets an ambitious club and challenging at the right end of the Premier League.

Real seek Stones and others

Following the appointment of Zinedine Zidane as Real Madrid boss, Los Blancos have wasted no time at all in drawing up a list of players that they want to bring in.

Everton centre back John Stones who was on Chelsea’s radar, appears to have attracted interest, while the club are also said to be prepping a £100m bid for Juventus star Paul Pogba.
