Chelsea circling for Pochettino and Van Persie

As Chelsea seek to start planning for the Premier League next season, attracting an elite coach is tipped to be their primary target, with London rivals Tottenham braced for a raid for boss Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine has impressed with his attacking style and blooding of youth into the Spurs starting XI, with Chelsea rumoured to be ready to pinch flavour-of-the-month manager Pochettino from his current project.

While, the Stamford Bridge side may not be done upsetting the apple cart, as the morning tabloids have also linked the Blues with a surprise swoop for ex-Arsenal and Manchester United striker Robin van Persie.

Howard heading home

In more Premier League speculation, Everton stopper Tim Howard could be about to cut short his tremendous 10-year stay with the Toffees, as rumours abound the USA international could return to his home nation with an MLS move in May to Colorado Rapids.

Spurs fans are also not short of gossip to enjoy, as their endless quest for another striker appears to have led them back to West Bromwich Albion and Saido Berahino’s door, with an improved bid of around £18m to test Albion’s resolve. In addition, the White Hart Lane side may just have solved the Moussa Dembele conundrum, by offering an immediate loan-back option to Fulham if they can sign the in-demand Championship dangerman.

Foxes and Hammers hounding hitmen?

Leicester City have reportedly upped their mooted £7.95m offer for Sampdoria striker Eder Citadin Martins to a much more rounded £10m, but may still be beaten to the Brazil-born Italy international’s signature by Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan.

If Eder is off the market, then, tabloids have earmarked CSKA Moscow marksman Ahmed Musa as Claudio Ranieri’s back-up attacker choice, though the 23-year-old Nigerian’s potential may force the Foxes to fork out up to £15m.

As for West Ham United, their transfers all lead back to Turkey, with the Upton Park striker search supposedly now a toss up between Galatasaray goal machine Burak Yilmaz and currently on-loan Fenerbahce forward Emmanuel Emenike. It is understood the Irons will not buy both, with Slaven Bilic preferring a potential loan deal for Ememkike than buying Yilmaz outright.

Staying with ambitious English clubs, Jurgen Klopp could cause a stir by pushing to the front of the queue for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka, an apparent Arsenal target. Though the Gunners may prove just as mischievous, as they attempt to beat the Reds to Juventus star Alvaro Morata, who could be at the centre of a £61m transfer tug-of-war this summer.
