Coral’s bet of the day

  • Wayne Rooney has five goals in as many games
  • Manchester United overcame Sheffield United in third round
  • Rooney bagged brace against Newcastle United recently

Rooney 7/1 to net two or more

The FA Cup fourth round takes centre stage this weekend and it’s from this latest weekend action that Coral’s bet of the day comes from, with Wayne Rooney 7/1 to net two or more for Manchester United against Derby County.

Manchester United v Southampton - Barclays Premier League - Old Trafford

Louis van Gaal’s Red Devils overcame League One outfit Sheffield United 1-0 in their previous third round clash thanks to a late penalty from in-form marksman Rooney, and he will be gunning for further goal scoring success at Pride Park.

The visitors have their sights set on a first FA Cup triumph in over a decade, with Dutchman Van Gaal seeking some silverware success to show for his testing time at Old Trafford, and Derby is a good place to start for his side.

Rampant Rooney can inspire again

Rooney, who became England’s all-time leading goal scorer last year by overtaking Sir Bobby Charlton’s previous record, had faced criticism before for his poor return, but he has ended that swiftly with a surge in form.

Britain Soccer Premier League

The Man Utd hitman has now struck five times in as many games throughout all competitions and will be licking his lips ahead of facing Championship opposition in this Friday night FA Cup clash in Derby.

Van Gaal’s leading frontman bagged a brilliant brace over Newcastle United recently too in a thrilling 3-3 Premier League draw, adding to his crucial winning strikes against Swansea City, Sheffield Utd and bitter rivals Liverpool.

At 7/1 for another deadly double, Rooney features as our bet of the day, as the rejuvenated forward continues his march towards becoming Man Utd’s all-time scorer as well as his country’s, with only seven goals remaining to level Charlton’s long-standing tally.
