Wolves woe will worsen with visit of Reading on Boxing Day

Reinforcements wanted by Jackett
Wolves welcome Reading to Molineux on Boxing Day, on the back of a run that sees them without a win in three Championship matches as the Christmas schedule continues.
It is perhaps why Wolves manager Kenny Jackett has called for the squad to be strengthened in the January transfer window, with the club 6/4 courtesy of Coral to beat opponents Reading.
While Polish winger Michal Zyro is set to arrive, according to Jackett, more recruits are needed. “I do think though they need some help and they need some help during the course of the game, because the decision making, the managing of the game when we’re maybe in front, it just isn’t there at the moment,” he said.
“A combination of the players recognising what they need to do to compete in the Championship and then understanding the basics of it and the decision-making process during the course of the game.
“Then, at the right time, obviously some help from the outside as well is going to be needed, we can see that. Yes, a lot of the players have something and we have a number of good players.”
Afobe key again
Despite losing 2-1 in this fixture last season, Wolves will know that the match could have gone either way, with striker Benik Afobe causing havoc to Reading’s rearguard, getting on the scoresheet for the equaliser.
The former Arsenal youth player is 9/2 to open the scoring and has netted in Wolves’ last two matches, including breaking the deadlock in the 3-2 defeat to Leeds United.
Reading to mount winning streak?
The Royals returned to victorious ways last time out with a 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers, following four defeats in a row and look to have turned the corner.
Midfielder Daniel Williams grabbed the decisive goal, though attackers Nick Blackman and Orlando Sa have shown they are more than capable of finding the net this term.
A win will have bred confidence among the forward line and, while Williams is 5/1 anytime, there is perhaps more value is Sa at 15/8 in the same market, or Blackman at 11/2 to break the deadlock.
