Hornets can deliver sting to Reds revival

It may come as a surprise to some Reds fans to know that Liverpool are actually one point behind their next opponents Watford despite being favourites at evens with Coral to win.

Indeed, it is actually the Hornets who are the form team coming into this match, with three successive Premier League wins. Striker Odion Ighalo has scored in each of them and features in a superb 6/1 matchday special for him to net anytime and Watford to win with a maximum £20 bet.

Seventh in the league and four points off a Champions League place, the Hornets were many people’s favourites for relegation this season, while victory against the Reds would see them win their fourth straight match in the English top flight for the first time since April 1987 to set up nicely for a busy festive Premier League schedule.

Sanchez happy with squad

Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores has done well so far to rotate his squad, though admitted it isn’t easy to keep everyone happy, stating: “I have a squad and I would like everyone to play. The team has been working very well this season and that has meant it hasn’t been easy to make many changes.

“Players like [Victor] Ibarbo, [Alessandro] Diamanti and [Jose] Holebas are in the squad dynamic and they are ready.

“It is impossible for every player to play all the minutes in the next four games.”

Reds to make away form count?

Most of Liverpool’s best performances under Jurgen Klopp this season have come away from home, with them gaining emphatic victories at Chelsea, Manchester City and Southampton in the Capital One Cup.

While Daniel Sturridge is still expected to miss out due to injury, responsibility could fall upon Divock Origi to deliver the goals with the Belgian 7/4 in the anytime market having grabbed a last-gasp equaliser last time out.

Arguably player of the season so far for Klopp’s side has been Philippe Coutinho, crucial in the club’s wins over Chelsea and City, so his odds of 6/1 to open the scoring are well worth considering.

Right back Nathaniel Clyne, has talked up the club’s chances of winning the title this season, following their recent turnaround under Klopp.

“Can we win the title? Yeah, it’s a possibility,” Clyne said. “Our target is definitely to get into the top four and we are in all the cup competitions.

“We are doing really well. The league is unpredictable. It keeps everyone excited, not knowing what is going to happen.”
