Mick Fitzgerald takes on The Racing App predictor for Ascot

The big race meeting of the weekend is at Ascot, and former top jockey Mick Fitzgerald has gone head-to-head with the latest computer technology to try and predict the winner of the two feature races on a superb Saturday card.

Fitzgerald, who was one of the most successful jump jockeys of all time riding over 1300 winners before injury forced him to retire in 2008, enjoyed many big race successes at the Berkshire venue and has used his track knowledge to visualise in his head how the Long Walk Hurdle (14.25) and Ladbrokes Handicap Hurdle (15.35) will unravel.

The 45-year-old, who is now a presenter on Channel 4 Racing and At The Races, rode Jack The Giant to victory in the 2007 renewal of the latter and knows what is required to win one of the most fiercely contested handicaps of the season.

His thoughts on both races have been developed into 3D-simulations by The Racing App, the hi-tech tool which aims to help punters find winners.

The Racing App, of which Coral is the official bookmaker, uses Race Modlr simulations to show you how a race is likely to unfold tactically together with key insights about the main contenders and best bets for the race.

Clever technology

The simulations are powered by a sophisticated computer algorithm which uses the same statistical methodologies utilised in forecasting weather and financial markets to study past performances and apply the findings to upcoming races.

As well as the 3D race simulations, there are also virtual paddock profiles detailing a horse’s strengths and weaknesses, its past performances plus a written summary of their chance of winning.

The Racing App also has racecards with key information you need, including star ratings and tips, and all bets can be placed secure and directly through the app with Coral.

As well as a simulation of how Fitzgerald thinks the races will be run and won, The Racing App has a computer generated outcome using it’s own formula.

So who will come out in the battle to try and find the winner? Download The Racing App now to view both simulations ahead of the big races on a fantastic day of top class action.
