McGregor becomes undisputed champion with 13 second Aldo KO

McGregor stops Aldo in 13 seconds

Conor McGregor sensationally stopped Brazilian Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds to become the undisputed featherweight champion at UFC194 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, downing the former title-holder with one devastating left hand.

The deadly Dubliner had predicted a first round stoppage, but nobody would have believed it would end in record time, with Aldo being completely taken out in the opening moments before McGregor rained blows on top of him, with the referee then intervening.

After months of build-up, weeks of promoting and an entire nation staying up throughout the night, McGregor shocked the world with an incredible 13-second KO!

Fight night finally arrived, as the most anticipated featherweight match-up in UFC history was ready to take centre stage, and there were Irish flags aplenty!

McGregor was primed and ready for battle after making weight perfectly!

There was a huge following for this encounter, with Hurri-Kane even getting involved!

The weigh-in had only added to the tension surrounding the bout..

Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan had put in a brave shift against Chris Eubank Jr and it was McGregor’s turn, with the Irish national team watching on..

The Irish fans were clearly having a great time in the streets of Las Vegas..

They took over Sin City as McGregor had wanted..

McGregor had long been the fight favourite, but fans were clearly taking to Aldo as the bout approached..

After a great night of action in the other UFC194 contests, it was almost time for the main event in the early hours of Sunday morning..

What an entrance it was for McGregor in the MGM Grand!

Fans in the UK and Ireland stayed up all night to witness the bout, but McGregor ended proceedings incredibly after just seconds..

With one single punch, Aldo’s reign as champion came to an end, with McGregor becoming the undisputed featherweight champion, just as he predicted!

And the Irish party began… or simply continued..
