Louisa Johnson’s odds slashed for Christmas number one
Published:X Factor winner Louisa Johnson is now the clear favourite to land this year’s Christmas number one after she won the ITV singing contest last night. After debuting the winner’s song, her odds were slashed to 8-11 from even money to top the charts over the festive period following a rush of bets.
However, she wasn’t the only singer to have caused a stir in the betting over the weekend as artist Stormzy attracted a huge gamble on Saturday night after rapping at the Anthony Joshua fight at the O2 Arena. His odds tumbled to 10-1 from 50-1 following that performance.
Justin Bieber is still the 5-1 second favourite to be Christmas number one, ahead of the NHS Choir who are prices at 7-1.
“We have been bombarded with bets on Louisa Johnson landing the number one spot this Christmas after she debuted her winners song last night,” said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.
“it’s hard to see anyone else beating her to the top spot, but some punters are convinced that rapper Stormzy could cause a Christmas shock,” added McGeady.
