With Chelsea set to take on Porto in their Champions League clash, Coral review which five players could possibly be tempted by a Stamford Bridge switch.

Jose Mourinho has resisted the urge to pursue anymore players from his former club, since joining Chelsea the first time, when he brought defenders Ricardo Carvalho and Paulo Ferreira with him.

However, the Blues, odds-on at 19/20 to dispatch Porto need freshening up in January so Mourinho could be tempted by a handful of players from his ex-employers.

Ruben Neves

One of the most talented young midfielders in Europe, who has been courted by both Arsenal and Liverpool, the 18-year-old is going from strength-to-strength.

A gifted deep-lying playmaker, he also operates as a defensive midfielder, has a range of passing and is tenacious in the tackle.

Yacine Brahimi

While Chelsea signed Juan Cuadrado last January, they clearly made a mistake with the winger, though there is no doubt the Blues need more guile out wide.

The 25-year-old Algerian was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge earlier in the season, so there could well be substance here, though Porto rate him highly and it could well be a costly transaction.

Vincent Aboubakar

With Diego Costa misfiring this term a new striker will be at the top of the Blues shopping list and the Cameroonian has scored eight in 16 across all competitions this season.

Likened to compatriot Samuel Eto’o, the 23-year-old is a prodigious talent and has helped his club get over the sale of Jackson Martinez to Atletico Madrid.

Hector Herrera

An energetic box-to-box midfielder, the Mexican would give Chelsea much-needed dynamism in the centre of the park and at just 25 has many years ahead of him at the top of his game.

Mourinho likes this all-action type of player, though he won’t come cheap with Porto reportedly setting a €40m price tag last summer.

Bruno Martins Indi

The enthusiastic centre back is just what Chelsea require at the back and his infectious personality could be what the Blues need in the dressing room to boost morale.

He also has talent and has developed his game well since his switch to the Portuguese side after the last World Cup, where he helped the Netherlands finish third.
