Klopp set to raid former club?

We start off in the Northwest of England with Liverpool, and reports this morning suggest that Jurgen Klopp could raid his former club Borussia Dortmund for centre back Neven Subotic.

The 26-year-old could be available for a very low fee of £3.5m, which would be ideal for the Reds (12/1 title chances with Coral) who splashed the cash in the summer under Brendan Rodgers.

But Klopp could also be in for another Serb, this time uncapped teenager Marko Grujic from Red Star Belgrade. The midfielder has, however, apparently asked for his future to be decided at the end of the season.

Transfer activity high in London

Moving to London, 6/5 top six chances Chelsea are reportedly stepping up the chase for Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann, despite the Frenchman recently stating he is happy in La Liga.

Any bid, though, may be met with a request to involve for Atleti striker Diego Costa in the deal, which the Blues may give in to as the Brazilian-born Spain striker has fallen out with Jose Mourinho and is in a poor run of form.

Argentine Jonathan Calleri looks set to join Chelsea, meanwhile, after the Boca Juniors striker recently tweeted “thanks for everything and goodbye”. The 22-year-old became an internet sensation last summer after scoring an incredible Rabona goal.

Eagles aiming to land Batshuayi

Elsewhere in the capital, Crystal Palace (11/2 to finish in the top six) hoping to land prolific Marseille frontman Michy Batshuayi. The Eagles are said to be preparing an audacious £15m swoop for the Belgian.

Up to the north of London, Arsenal are tracking Celta Vigo forward Nolito, 29, but could face competition from his former side Barcelona if they are willing to pay his £15m price.

The Gunners’ rivals Tottenham are hoping to delve into the market for young talent, meanwhile, and Walsall’s Rico Henry, dubbed the ‘new Ashley Cole’ is on their radar to add to Spurs’ ever-growing youthful team.

Finally, Premier League leaders Leicester City have been encouraged by Sir Alex Ferguson to spend, not sell, in January to keep up their unlikely title bid. And they could go in for Birmingham City’s starlet winger Demarai Gray, whose release clause is an affordable £3.75m.
