Gross deal

Liverpool, 6/5 with Coral to beat Sion in their Europa League clash, have reportedly struck a deal with winger Kevin Grosskreutz who Reds boss Jurgen Klopp managed at Borussia Dortmund.

The versatile 27-year-old, who can operate just about anywhere apart from striker or centre back, is said to have agreed a three-year deal with the Reds and will join the Premier League club until January, where he can help them mount a title challenge in their remaining fixtures.

While the player joined Galatasaray in the summer transfer window, FIFA put a sanction on the deal because relevant paperwork wasn’t submitted in time, which means that the German hasn’t played this season and isn’t eligible to do so until the beginning of January.

Leicester look to Nigel

No, not that one. The Foxes are understood to be tracking AC Milan’s defensive midfielder Nigel de Jong in January. Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri is looking for an experienced and powerful central player to replace Gokhan Inler who has struggled to adapt to life at Leicester and could move away from the club in January.

Although De Jong’s contract runs until 2018 at the San Siro, he hasn’t featured since September and may tempted by a move back to Premier League, which he won with Manchester City. The former Netherlands international would also find himself in another title race, with the East Midlands club currently at the summit of the English top flight.

Gunners to put faith in Jesus?

Arsenal, meanwhile, are believed to have placed Palmeiras forward Gabriel Jesus under careful scrutiny after the 18-year-old was compared to compatriot Neymar.

Currently plying his trade in the Brazilian league, he was a key figure for his country at the Under-20 World Cup and is being watched by Benfica, Juventus and Roma.

The Gunners are also said to have Deportivo La Coruna winger Lucas Perez on their radar as they look to boost their squad in January, with the 27-year-old a viable option for manager Arsene Wenger.
