Toffees track Matt

Everton, 3/1 with Coral for a top six finish, are monitoring Bournemouth winger Matt Ritchie, who is understood to have a number of clubs interested in him.

Ritchie has been one of the standout performers for the Cherries this season and boss Eddie Howe will be keen to hang onto his prized asset.

West Ham United, West Bromwich Albion and Manchester United are also expected to compete for his signature, though Toffees boss Roberto Martinez remains a long term fan of the player, with any fee expected to be in the region of £10m for the 26-year-old.

Manchester City plan Vardy swoop

Manuel Pellegrini’s side are reportedly plotting a £30m bid for Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy as they prepare to stay competitive on all fronts this season.

With a tough Premier League schedule in the second half of the season and concerns over Sergio Aguero’s fitness, it leaves them with one fit senior striker in Wilfried Bony, who signed from Swansea City last January in a £24m deal.

Furthermore, goal machine Vardy would be a huge boost to the club’s Champions League credentials as they will be able to field the prolific scorer, with the 28-year-old also helping to augment City’s quota of homegrown players.

Villa vie for Charlie

Meanwhile, there could be plenty of activity in the West Midlands this January, with Aston Villa in particular in need of strengthening.

New boss Remi Garde is understood to have identified a number of targets to help bring the club out of the relegation zone, with QPR’s Charlie Austin reportedly on their radar.

The striker showed his goalscoring prowess in the top flight last season, showing he is more than capable of cutting it with the best and Villa are reportedly planning an £8m move for the Hoops star who is out of contract in June.
