Thomas Muller next club odds

December has arrived, which means only one thing. Coral customers across the country will surely be popping open the doors of their delicious advent calendars. Though, what about Premier League clubs? Who is awaiting them behind the curtain of the transfer window?

This wild winters morning, Champions League hopefuls Chelsea and Manchester United are once again the centre of tabloid attention…

A tale of three strikers for Chelsea

Thomas Muller may be the man at the top of Man Utd’s Christmas list, but that doesn’t mean Bayern Munich are just going to hand over the hitman. Still, this hasn’t put struggling Premier League champions Chelsea off trying for the German talisman in January, as Jose Mourinho reportedly continues his attempts to replace Diego Costa.

Blues and former Red Devils flop Radamel Falcao is also out of time at Stamford Bridge, though the well-heeled Londoners are afraid they won’t be able to return their misfiring Colombian forward to Monaco, though they have the receipt. Could unwanted Falcao be left on the shelf this winter?

Ronaldo’s Red Devils return heats up

There may also be trouble at the mill in Manchester, with Basque midfielder Ander Herrera apparently keen for crunch talks with boss Louis van Gaal over his position at the club. Though, in happier news for the Old Trafford faithful, Cristiano Ronaldo’s rumoured return has supposedly received the seal of approval… from his mother.

There may not be much transfer joy elsewhere for the Mancunians, however, as, according to coach Mark Hughes, Stoke City “wouldn’t even place a value” on stopper Jack Butland, amid speculation all of Northwest rivals Man Utd, Liverpool and Everton have an eye on the keeper.

While, Van Gaal and co could also face a battle for Basel’s Swiss striking starlet Breel Embolo, with Barcelona (5/2 with Coral to retain the Champions League) and Juventus (25/1 in the same market) both thought to be interested in the 18-year-old forward.

Arsenal to capture Coquelin replacement

Arsene Wenger is at it again… with the Gunners boss indulging in what seems to be his favourite past-time, claiming he just missed out on the next big thing. This time the Frenchman reckons compatriot Kingsley Coman, currently making waves on loan in Munich, narrowly avoided pitching up at the Emirates last year.

Wily Wenger may have better luck this Christmas, though, as he scours the continent for Francis Coquelin cover. Porto’s teenage defensive shield sensation Ruben Neves is the name in the frame, though could cost the Gunners £22m. So, instead, a rifle though the bargain bin may see mercurial midfielder Adrien Rabiot arrive in north London, but neighbours Tottenham could nab the talent first.

Staying at White Hart Lane, Mauricio Pochettino is seeking a new home for winger Andros Townsend, with Swansea City, Leicester City, West Bromwich Albion, Aston Villa and Newcastle United all potential destinations.
