Coral re-open betting on rescheduled Welsh Grand National

SPORTSBOOK ODDS

Coral today re-opened betting on the rescheduled Coral Welsh Grand National making Midnight Prayer and Upswing the 8/1 joint favourites for the race, now to be staged on the 9th January 2016.

O’Faolain’s Boy who had been an ante post gamble for the race before being announced as a non-runner earlier this week, has been re-installed as a 12/1 chance for the rescheduled race.

With the race reverting to the original entries, all ante post bets struck on the race up until 8am this morning with Coral will stand and be settled on the result of the 9th January contest, including some bets that had been settled as losers at subsequent confirmation or forfeit stages but which will now be reinstated.

Given the unique circumstances Coral, as an ex gratia gesture, will allow any customers who no longer want their ante post bets to roll on to the rescheduled Welsh Grand National to void them by contacting the Coral customer service team any time up until midnight on 31st December 2015. After this cut off point all ante post bets will stand ‘all in run or not’.

“Of course it is disappointing to have to postpone the Coral Welsh Grand National due to the weather, but that goes with the territory when staging race meetings at this time of year. Most importantly the biggest and richest race in Wales will only be delayed, not lost, thanks to the co-operation, commitment and combined effort of all the relevant parties involved, namely the BHA, ARC, Levy Board, Channel 4 and Coral,” said Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman.

“We have been blessed with a largely uninterrupted first half to the jump season so it was inevitable that at some stage the British weather would bare its teeth. Betting turnover will be hit hard tomorrow as a result of the postponement of Chepstow and the abandonment of Wetherby, but at least we will now see the benefits of having this fantastic Chepstow card to boost betting turnover on Saturday 9th January”, added Clare.
