Bet of the day

  • Blackburn Rovers sit 10 Championship places above strugglers Rotherham
  • Jordan Rhodes has struck nine times this season
  • The Scot bagged previous braces against Ipswich Town and Charlton Athletic

Rhodes 4/1 for brace or more

The Championship action kicks-off with tasty Friday night clashes this week and it’s Blackburn Rovers’ meeting with stuttering side Rotherham United that our bet of the day comes from, with Jordan Rhodes 4/1 with Coral to dispatch a double or more.

Rovers currently sit a substantial 10 places and nine points above their next second tier opponents in the domestic standings, and have enjoyed a successful run of six successive games unbeaten since October.

Such an impressive streak has been helped by the clinical form of reliable Rovers marksman Rhodes, with the Scotland striker having already fired in nine goals so far at this early stage of the current Championship campaign.

Rampant Rhodes vital

The 25-year-old last struck in a crucial victory over Preston North End, when he confidently held his nerve to tuck away a decisive match-winning penalty to wrap-up a successful away trip and secure three points.

Before that encounter, Rhodes had also dispatched a last-minute equaliser against Hull City to rescue a dramatic point for his side after 90 minutes played.

As well as his Hull heroics, the deadly Ewood Park poacher has managed to bag a brace on two other occasions this current season, in vital victories to nil over both Ipswich Town and Charlton Athletic.

Crucial goals in abundance

His goals are once again proving to be an important factor in Blackburn’s hopeful campaign, with his boss Paul Lambert hoping he can continue such fine form for the remainder of the term in order for Rovers to push for a potential promotion.

Recent history, and his sublime form in fornt of goal of course, suggests Rhodes will continue to hurt Rotherham in his latest club outing, having helped inflict defeat on the Millers last season, as he popped up with a late strike to earn three points.

So make sure to back Rhodes to find the target twice again in this Friday night match-up at 4/1 as part of Coral’s intriguing bet of the day!
