Liverpool look to build on good recent form

Following the Reds 4-1 thrashing of Manchester City last time out in the Premier League, Liverpool will look to pick up where they left off, as they welcome Swansea to Anfield next time out, with Jurgen Klopp’s side odds-on at 1/2 with Coral to take all three points.

Despite excellent Premier League results away from home against Man City and Chelsea, however, Klopp will still be slightly concerned about his side’s record at Anfield, especially considering the 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace in their last home match.

It seems Klopp may have addressed this with a 2-1 win over Bordeaux, to follow the City victory and will be looking to put past poor home results behind him. Last term, Liverpool ran out 4-1 winners over the south Wales outfit with Adam Lallana bagging a brace to add to Alberto Moreno’s opener, before former Red Jonjo Shelvey struck an own goal. Lallana, who is one of many players who looks rejuvenated under Klopp, is a 7/4 chance in the anytime market.

Array of attacking talent could sink Swans

Against City, it seems the Reds clicked into place up front, with their fluid strikeforce, which included new summer signing Roberto Firmino installed in a nominal ‘false nine’ role, with the Brazilian getting on the scoresheet. The 24-year-old is 4/1 to break the deadlock against what has been a leaky Swansea defence of late, with the visitors to Anfield conceding six goals in their last three matches.

Philippe Coutinho has been the one consistent performer this term and he was also on the scoresheet at the Etihad. At 6/1 to score two or more, this could well be good value having bagged a brace against Chelsea and followed up with goals in the club’s following two matches.

Klopp also seems to have worked wonders with Christian Benteke, who has actually relished playing at home under the German. The Belgian struck the winner against Bordeaux, while he also opened the scoring against Southampton with a bullet header. At 10/3 to be first scorer, this could be a price worth considering as he looks to pick up where he left off.

Ayew audition?

With new Swans summer signing recently expressing his desire to play for a top four club, and Liverpool reportedly interested, this could be the perfect platform for the Ghanaian to impress. Having struck in the 2-2 draw against Bournemouth last time out, odds of 11/4 anytime for Ayew appear good value.

Gylfi Sigurdsson scored here last term and, as a result, the Icelandic attacking midfielder is offered at 5/1 in the same market.
