Eagles can swoop for another three points

Crystal Palace and Sunderland star in the latest installment of Monday Night Football, though this meeting does not bode well for the Mackems, who are the only Premier League team not to have won away all term.

Still firmly positioned one point from the bottom, Sam Allardyce’s side are best priced at 3/1 with Coral to pick up a point at Selhurst Park, rather than a long shot at 11/2 for victory.

Black Cats supporters may take hope from the fact that Sunderland won this very fixture last season, but Palace were a different beast back then, before Pardew pitched up at the capital club.

The Eagles’ later 4-1 away triumph in the Northeast better reflects the two teams’ current standings, and punters can plump for Palace to score three or more again at a tasty 21/10 price.

Sunderland stumbles continue

Allardyce has had little time to implement his tactics at the Stadium of Light, with the real test set to arrive in January, when Big Sam can do his wheeling and dealing.

After two defeats on the trot, some signs of revival are required, but the visitors could be without midfield battle-axe Lee Cattermole, who remains an injury doubt.

Striker Steven Fletcher bagged a brace at Selhurst last season and is 2/1 to be on target again anytime, while fellow forwards Jermain Defoe and Fabio Borini are 7/1 and 8/1 shouts to score last respectively.

Wickham to pinch the winner?

As for Pardew’s predators, much of the focus will be on summer signing and former Sunderland sharpshooter Connor Wickham, who faces the Black Cats for the first time since his switch.

Speaking ahead of the scuffle, Wickham stated: “I’ve not got a point to prove. I know what I can do and I will show the people here what I can do. I look forward to every game but this game in particular will be good for me.

“I had four years up at Sunderland and I’m grateful for what they did for me. But now I’ve a new project.

“Now I have come to a club which has a manager who believes in me. I’m a million times happier at Palace than I was at Sunderland,” added the 22-year-old, who is 6/5 to sink one past Sunderland anytime.

Supporting Wickham will likely be electric Yannick Bolasie, who struck in the victory against Liverpool last time out and also notched a hat-trick against the Black Cats last campaign. The rapid winger is 11/2 to open the scoring, while cutomers can also capitalise on a Coral match special , with midfield maestro Yohan Cabaye to score and Crystal Palace to win offered at an enhanced 4/1 (max stake £20).
